Stefan Boonen is a Flemish children's author who writes picture books, graphic novels and novels for children. His books have been rewarded and translated. 

Stefan's books are characterised by imagination, rich language, a sense of connection and humour.

Stefan often works together with illustrators like Tom Schoonooghe, Jan Van Lierde, Federico Appel or Melvin.

Stefan often visits libraries, schools and festivals, also abroad. Together with illustrator Melvin, he is the driving force behind the Kabaal! children's book festival

Stefan works and lives in Leuven.
